Confessions of a Serial Dancer - by Trina

I pull the hood of my jacket over, half covering my sweaty face; I am exhausted. These are the confessions of a serial dancer.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 3 Week 1

Lacey & Cameron's exhilirating performance so you think you can dance season 3 contemporary
Lacey & Cameron's exhilirating performance
I called this post Week 1 because I'm counting from the big stage and partner performances. So what if I accidentally Googled 'So You Think You Can Dance' only to find that my favourite had won Season 3, which I'm currently watching in delayed Australian time (of about a month or so).

The performances that really stood out for me were:

Lacey and Kameron's contemporary dance choreographed by Mia Michaels (what a genius). It was unbelievable, it's inspired me to go out and try contemporary dance classes. I love it, it was extremely moving. Definitely my favourite performance of the night.

Sara and Jesus' old school street vagabond theme was the wildest shit I've ever seen. So great to see a b-girl in this comp, and she did so well in this combo. Wade Robson pulled out some crazy shit, though I see his influences applied to N'Sync and Britney showcases...

I love the Norah Jones track that Pasha and Jessi slow waltzed to. Actually it's my favourite, and their routine blew me away. Floating on clouds, putting some nice tricks into a traditional dance.

Until next Thursday!

Trina,

I LOVE this show. I didn't miss an episode last season, but last night was the first episode I caught of this season.

I thought Lacey & Cameron were fabulous too. And the vagabond routine was very cool.

The big surprise for me was the slow waltz from Pasha and Jessi. Normally the waltz sends me to sleep, I don't remember ever seeing a waltz routine that was engaging. But they were gorgeous!!

I can't wait for next week!

I was watching this last night and I was sad to see (just in case anyone didn't see it and wants to see the episode on YouTube, I won't spoil it for you) that guy go. I thought he was one of the more talented performers in the group but I agree with the decision with the girl. I would have to say, their performance was the worst one of the bunch - when you spend the duration of the performance laughing and scratching your head, wondering if it's supposed to be a comic act...

I agree Kylie, those were the best performances and they've all really inspired me to look into contemporary, waltz and weird old school pop vagabond thing that Aussie genius Wade Robson choreographed!

Hey Aimzter, it's hard when the standard of performers competing is at such a high level. I wonder if it'll be the same kinda levels down here in Australia...
